St John's Church Lemsford

Our friendly church is prominently located in the village of Lemsford, Hertfordshire. You can find us north of Hatfield, close to Welwyn Garden City on the B653 at the South East side of Brocket Hall Park. The village of Lemsford itself is well known throughout the area for its large mill on the River Lea which winds its way through Brocket Hall Park.

Members of our lively congregation live in Lemsford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and elsewhere in the surrounding area. We also have a special concern for Hatfield Garden Village as well as our own parish. Children are, of course, always welcome in church and are a valued part of our church family. All ages join for the whole service in church once a month and on other occasions.

Our main Sunday Service is at 11 am.  Each Sunday we also have an 8.00 am Holy Communion (Prayer Book) service.  In addition to those, we also hold special services throughout the year e.g. at Easter and Christmas.

Please visit our website https://www.stjohnschurchlemsford.org/ for full details of our services and events

Lastly like every other organisation at St John's Church Lemsford we have seen our income drastically reduce with almost no change in outgoings.  Any financial help you can give would be greatly appreciated - please click here for our donations link

St Luke's Church, Hatfield.

St. Albans Road East Hatfield
http://www.stetheldreda.org

The Third Marquis of Salisbury built St Luke’s as a cemetery church in 1877. As Newtown (the first new town) developed, regular Sunday services started in 1888. In 1893 the chapel was converted to a cruciform plan church.

The font was originally in a Wesleyan Chapel, which was used as a furniture store, and was reinstated in St Luke’s church before the Second World War.

The building is of a simple form with ashlar stone facing and a clay tiled roof. Internally there is considerable use of wood, including an exposed roof structure, dado panelling organ housing and pews.

It is a grade 2 listed building.

We are an inclusive, community-focussed church, that aims to help people of all ages and backgrounds to encounter God in both traditional and contemporary ways.

Our principal service is Holy Communion at 09:15am on Sunday morning, with a Sunday Club for children. On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have an 'All-Together' service of Holy Communion, which is a service suitable for EVERYONE aged 0-100!

We also have a thriving Messy Church that meets once a month where youngsters (of all ages!) are getting to know God through art and craft!

Our church is open for private prayer during the week, and a service of Holy Communion or Morning Prayer is held every Tuesday at 10:00am.

We look forward to welcoming you!
